Fine stay. There were a lot of kids running the halls at night and the pub was loud in the evening due to it being pay day weekend. But the rooms are clean and have everything you need.
Clean tidy short stay accommodation. The staff are very helpful.

Well appointed guesthouse literally 5mins from city centre complete with on site parking. Rooms were nice & a cooked breakfast was excellent. Although two pubs across road no food, but a pleasant 10/15 mins walk along the River there are plenty.
Wonderful friendly staff. Well looked after and lovely food

Although we didnt stay at the hotel, we stopped in at the restaurant. Simply delicious. Visually beautiful dishes, with attention to texture and flavour. I had the chicken, it was moist and and paired with perfectly cooked crackling - which added to the missing umami element of chicken breast dishes. My companion enjoyed the Welsh steak. The chef decided the meat was best cooked rare - which for such lean steak was ideal. For goodness sake, order the desserts.
Fantastic historic building and wonderful people. The hotel is in a fabulous position right in the heart of beautiful Shrewsbury. We were well looked after by the efficient and friendly staff. Good food too. We will definitely be going back and would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent pub. Friendly staff, great beer and good food.
Visited on sunny Saturday afternoon. Busy in the pub but still seating space. A good range of well kept real ales- had a nice tasting Salopian Black Heart Stout.

A lovely cosy pub. Food on the main menu was slightly too fancy for us but we opted for a lovely sandwich with chips, home made coleslaw and salad for £6 each - really good value we felt! Just off the main area of the town, a little hidden out of the way if not familiar with the area (we were just visiting!), we parked nearby and walked just up the road. Cheap drinks too which are always welcomed by us Southerners! Nice place. Efficient service for colder food but were warned there would be a longer wait for a hot dinner.
Well planned dishes and good daily specials plus an excellent selection of beers and cider's in a lovely old pub with precarious looking winding wooden stairs to the toilets.

Really great stay. Warm friendly welcome with home made cake and tea.
Very comfortable. Lovely looking exterior, polite service and set in a lovely part of town very near to a park and the river.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
Acorn Cottage, Red Barn Ln, Shrewsbury SY3 7HR, UK – 07913 387531
What a tranquil place to stay. The cottage is only a short walk to the town centre but even locals would not know it was there. All the amenities you would expect of a holiday cottage are available. Jon and Sue are excellent hosts and they will make sure your stay is perfect as they did for us. Shrewsbury is a fascinating place to explore with many medieval buildings and narrow passages. Pubs ( easy walking) and food outlets galore.
A wonderful oasis to stay in to recharge your batteries in barn cottages. A little piece of heaven tranquillity and tucked away from the main road. Jon and Sue are the owners and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Fantastic place real home from home and excellent value xx
My girlfriend and i had a fantastic stay in this lovely cottage in the centre of shrewsbury. It was immaculately clean and had lots of extra little touches which you would not ordinarily expect from self-catered accommodation. The fresh milk and biscuits on arrival were a lovely surprise, especially after our long drive. I would highly recommend this gorgeous little cottage to anybody thinking of a trip to shrewsbury; its location, style and amenities are second to none, contributing to an absolutely fabulous stay in shrewsbury.
