I stayed for a few hours to rest on a long journey and meet up with a friend who was staying there. The rooms are clean, basic and comfortable. I didn't sleep in the bed or have a shower, but my friend said she was pleased with it and stays there regularly. The location is at a very convenient services with a Starbucks, a decent pub, a Burger King and a convenience store. We enjoyed the food at the pub, which is right next to the hotel and very convenient.
Typical Travelodge. Nice comfy bed, clean room and shower. Free Tea & coffee facilities provided. Free parking and food available at local pub next door. Enjoyable mid-week visit for a business trip.

This is a nice modern hotel in the centre of the town. It's well lit up and colourful in an evening. It has a good lounge and a large restaurant to sit and relax in. The hotel overlooks the river Severn where there are great walks and boat trips. In the hotel there seems a shortage of staff particularly round the bar area, u always have to look for a member of staff to serve you but otherwise good service.
It's a Premier Inn, what you see you is pretty much get. Clean, comfortable rooms, great beds & friendly staff, features a lovely bar & restaurant area on the ground floor. The perfect location to explore Shrewsbury as it's only minutes away from the train station & town centre, with its great choice of shops, pubs, bars etc. Recommended.

Attended a social get together here on Thursday. The selection of drinks was good, service was fairly quick, and they seemed to be well staffed. We ordered starters which were good value, and quality, although they got my order wrong they were fast to replace it. Main meals were again good value, and all correct this time. My only gripe being the very small amount of watery gravy with my steak and kidney pudding. Overall you get what you pay for, and despite a few niggles a good night was had.
Started a celebration of somebody's birthday in the Shrewsbury, had a great night. Comfortable surroundings, good food that genuinely hit the spot and a perfect springboard for those looking to have a good night out

Nice pub. Nice range of real ale. Nice building. Nice interior. Nice bar area. Friendly staff. Great stairs. Big on medium priced pub food and large seating area at back concentrating on food clientele. Basic and not that sweet smelling toilets.
A lovely cosy pub. Food on the main menu was slightly too fancy for us but we opted for a lovely sandwich with chips, home made coleslaw and salad for £6 each - really good value we felt! Just off the main area of the town, a little hidden out of the way if not familiar with the area (we were just visiting!), we parked nearby and walked just up the road. Cheap drinks too which are always welcomed by us Southerners! Nice place. Efficient service for colder food but were warned there would be a longer wait for a hot dinner.

I went there for a work Christmas dinner. Good food and good service. New owners that were great. Good luck to them hope they are very successful in the future.
Have been going here for years and gave it 5 stars... unfortunately last food experience wasn't good, Hunter's chicken overcooked and tough, slow service. I understand it has new managers, they need to get the food side sorted pdq before I go again

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Fantastic place real home from home and excellent value xx
My girlfriend and i had a fantastic stay in this lovely cottage in the centre of shrewsbury. It was immaculately clean and had lots of extra little touches which you would not ordinarily expect from self-catered accommodation. The fresh milk and biscuits on arrival were a lovely surprise, especially after our long drive. I would highly recommend this gorgeous little cottage to anybody thinking of a trip to shrewsbury; its location, style and amenities are second to none, contributing to an absolutely fabulous stay in shrewsbury.

Acorn Cottage, Red Barn Ln, Shrewsbury SY3 7HR, UK – 07913 387531
Perfect holiday retreat within walking distance of Shrewsbury town centre. All furniture and fittings are top specification affording every comfort a couple could wish for. Intend to return in the future.
What a tranquil place to stay. The cottage is only a short walk to the town centre but even locals would not know it was there. All the amenities you would expect of a holiday cottage are available. Jon and Sue are excellent hosts and they will make sure your stay is perfect as they did for us. Shrewsbury is a fascinating place to explore with many medieval buildings and narrow passages. Pubs ( easy walking) and food outlets galore.
