Visit Shrewsbury

The Music Hall, Market St, Shrewsbury SY1 1LH, UK – 01743 258888

The first time I visited Shrewsbury I was in awe of the wonderful black and white buildings. It was like stepping back in time. Shrewsbury is a beautiful place to visit, shop and stay. Check out what events are happening at the time of visiting as they have lots going on throughout the year, such as the Shrewsbury Flower Show, Food Festival and Shrewsbury Cartoon Festival

This is such a lovely experience, whether just floating down the river (which we do regularly), or combining it with something else: last evening we joined in for one of their "Cruise and Dine" evenings ~ one hour sailing on the Severn, followed by a two-course dinner at a restaurant of one's choice (there are usually four or five different ones). The sailing trip was lovely: not too cold, and we had some warming hot chocolate to enjoy during it. The shower that suddenly fell on our way back to the jetty miraculously stopped as the boat tied up! We'd chosen Loch Fyne for our destination, and it was as good a meal as we'd had last year ~ and we almost made it back to the car in the dry...

A lovely trip with great service and friendly staff. Shrewsbury certainly has a beautiful river line with an interesting story to tell that the commentary helps highlight. I was part of a small choir and we very much enjoyed being able to sing a few pieces. Definitely be back!

I had a brilliant experience here. When I entered the shop I said I needed a pair of boots, socks and blister plasters. The owner said to me "with our boots you won't need any plasters!. I thought oh yeah I've heard it all before. But honestly, after doing the three peaks there is not a blister on my feet. Great shop, great service and the owner is an absolute gent. Would definitely recommend!

Great place...local friendly service

Local Parks & Gardens

Dingle Gardens

National Cycle Rte 81, Shrewsbury SY1 1JL, UK

Very well maintained. Plenty of viewing platforms and benches. Best to visit on a (sunny) weekday to avoid the crowds.

Beautiful, well maintained to professional horticultural top end degrees. Relaxing and peaceful. Clean and tidy with water fountains.

The Quarry

Shrewsbury SY1 1JA, UK

Fantastic place for while family, great playing park for kids including safe splashing area, which my son loves! Beautiful flower garden and main park, where you can spend hours walking or cycling. Swimming pool and a lots of attractions whole year round😀 I recommend a nice pub on the other side of the river with beautiful view of Quarry!

Disappointed by the early 3:45pm closing time of the Dingle. Could have waited until after the clocks had been put back an hour. And there was dog muck on some of the kids play equipment. Not sanitary at all. But Quarry and Dingle looking good as usual.

Rea Brook Valley Local Nature Reserve

Rea Brook Valley Circular Walk, Shrewsbury SY3 7ET, UK – 01743 257610

Lovely spot, well looked after and great for walking the dog. It isn't it so you won't be able to see in the dark

Lovely quite place to walk and see the seasons change

Fantastic collection and well displayed. Really enjoyed my visit. A fascinating history of one of our fine regiments... covers most major campaigns of the last 300 years or so. Had a nice quiz to entertain the kids too!

Lovely grounds. Friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed museum quiz hunt
